He is a highly experienced Metallurgical Engineer and scientist with more than 25 years of experience in research, innovation, product development, projects, process solutions, manufacturing and educational activities.

He is the sole inventor of technology, protected by an Indian Patent No. 252998 for a selective and specific Hydrogen Sensor which has completed the journey from lab to industry and is a highly acclaimed industrial product.He is a Ph.D. from McMaster University, Canada and B.Tech (Hons) from IIT-Bombay in Materials Science & Metallurgy.


These sensors are useful in safety monitoring against hydrogen hazards and are also widely used in industries where non-flammable hydrogen mixture is used as a tracer gas for leak location. It is also used to detect leakages from within enclosures. It is the only, one of its kind, advanced technology sensor manufactured in India.

The Hydrogen sensing technology has served niche users in Power, Automobiles, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Pharmaceuticals, Nuclear Science, Atomic Research, Aerospace and Energy Storage sectors.

His lab to industry development came at a time when the infrastructure and appetite for core technology development in India was very low. The success of his Hydrogen sensing technology is a testament to his abilities as a scientist and industrial product creator.
